Hi, everybody
I am new to the forum... I have just bought a new Ford Fusion (3.0 V6 2011/2011) and as you can imagine I am very enthusiastic about it... But I have some doubts that I would like to share with you: -first, the dvd/cd player does not recognize my cd's (artists, albuns, tracks, etc) and does not show the radio stations' names either (nor the names of the songs being broadcasted); -second, my car seems to be a little bit "stuck" (if you know what I mean) in terms of speed/acceleration..I don't know if this is normal, considering it is a brand new car with just 150 km... Thanks in advance for your help -Luiz Muzzi |

Welcome to the nut house and your concerns are easily eliviated with a trip to the dealer. simply have them show you how to work the sync properly and if it is malfunctioning then a simple firmware update will solve it. That is why you buy a car with a warantee. I dont remember if sync does or not because my cd's are mp3 formated because with 6 discs and about 80 songs per disc I never have to worry about it. but then again the sync recognizes the mp3 tags and folders. I dont know if older cd's have embedded tags for the sync to recognize. I dont have sync personallly
but all the other fords in the family do.

Blackfusion06,
Thanks a lot for your quick reply. I`ll go to the dealer and check it. Anyway, I will follow your advice and burn some mp3 cd`s and see how it goes... Regards, -Luiz Muzzi |

the other thing is in brazil are you sure your local radio stations broadcast the id tags that the sync would recognize? again a dealer question in brazil. Us stations do except for the small stations.

The curious thing is that I had a Ford Focus before buying the Fusion and the cd player used to recognize the id tags...including the names of the songs being broadcasted (of course not from the small radio stations). I think it is something called RDS, but I'm not sure.
I have read the manual thoroughly but I could not find how to activate this feature (which I assume must be "hidden" somewhere). Regards, -Luiz Muzzi |

For your audio CD's, unless the CD was written with "CDText" (aka ID tags) then nothing will show up but Track #. As for the radio, the station has to be broadcasting the information. I've had my stereo not display the correct information a few times, but it turned out that the radio station was to blame. If its EVERY radio station, and they work in another vehicle, then it could just be yours.

Yes, as for the radio, that is exactly what happened. I generally listen to the same station (I think most people do this) and it turned out that it was the radio statio to blame. Now it is working properly.
As for the audio CD's, I finally found one or two that the cd/dvd player can read... It is amazing how many cd's could be recognized by my Focus player which cannot be identified by my Fusion! Perhaps it's a problem with the database...Regards, -Luiz Muzzi |
